Tracy G. Group, Featuring Former Dio Guitarist and Brazilian Vocalist Fabiano Negri, Unleashes “Human Reptile” and Announces MAKKINAGEDOOM
The new project led by former Ronnie James Dio guitarist Tracy G. delivers its first original single from the upcoming album, keeping alive the dark, heavy spirit forged during his years with Dio.
The Tracy G. Group, the new project led by guitarist Tracy G., best known for his tenure with Ronnie James Dio from 1993 to 1999, has released “Human Reptile” today, September 11. The track marks the first original composition from the group’s new chapter and officially kicks off the campaign for MAKKINAGEDOOM, the band’s upcoming album due October 30.
Featuring 12 original songs, MAKKINAGEDOOM represents a new stage in Tracy G.’s career, bringing him together with Brazilian vocalist Fabiano Negri and bassist Randy Oviedo.

“Human Reptile” was chosen as the project’s first single because of the song’s immediate impact and because it represents the musical direction of the album head-on. Written by Tracy G. and Fabiano Negri, the track has also received the Tracy G. Group’s first official music video.

For Tracy, the song began with a riff rooted firmly in traditional Heavy Metal.
“Fabiano and I chose ‘Human Reptile’ as the first single because we felt it was an excellent and very memorable song, so we decided to make our first music video for it. When I came up with the original riff, I was thinking of something very direct and energetic, along the lines of a Judas Priest song. That’s where it all started,” Tracy G. explains.
The songwriting partnership between Tracy G. and Fabiano Negri proved equally important to the creation of MAKKINAGEDOOM. The album was developed remotely between the United States and Brazil, with Tracy handling the creation and recording of the entire instrumental foundation.
In addition to the guitars and bass, the guitarist also recorded all of the drums heard on the album. Fabiano was responsible for writing the lyrics and vocal melodies and for recording the vocals, while Randy Oviedo later laid down the definitive bass tracks.
“I write the instrumental foundations myself and record them in my studio — guitars, bass and drums first. Then I send the material to Fabiano in Brazil, where he writes the lyrics and records the vocals. When I get everything back — and every track he sends me is killer — I bring in bassist Randy Oviedo to record the final bass lines. The entire MAKKINAGEDOOM album was built exactly that way, one song at a time. I would record the complete instrumental first, send it to Fabiano, and he would create the original lyrics and melodies,” the guitarist says.
The collaboration with Fabiano Negri has become one of the defining elements of the Tracy G. Group’s sound. The Brazilian vocalist, who has more than three decades of experience behind him, brings his own distinctive approach to the material while preserving the weight and dark atmosphere that have long been associated with Tracy G.’s work.
“Working with Fabiano has been an incredible experience. He is, without a doubt, the most positive vocalist I have ever had the opportunity to work with. I simply love his voice, his tone and all of his creativity. He has a great voice and is an extremely versatile singer. On top of that, he is very creative, writing his own melodies and lyrics. When I sent him the first song and heard what he did with it, I immediately knew I had found the perfect combination. He delivers performances full of emotion, writes incredible melodies and lyrics, and brings a unique identity to the compositions. We recorded a fantastic album,” Tracy G. states.
Musically, MAKKINAGEDOOM draws on several elements that have defined Tracy G. throughout his career, particularly classic Heavy Metal and the heavier, darker approach developed during his years with Ronnie James Dio.
The album’s influences reach back to Black Sabbath, particularly the sound and atmosphere of Dehumanizer, while also connecting directly with Tracy G.’s work alongside Dio on Strange Highways and Angry Machines. The new material, however, is not simply an exercise in revisiting the past. Instead, the songs incorporate those influences into a distinct identity of their own.
The lineup responsible for recording MAKKINAGEDOOM features Tracy G. on guitars and drums, Fabiano Negri on vocals, and Randy Oviedo on bass.
For the Tracy G. Group’s future live performances in Brazil, the project will feature another Brazilian musician: drummer Guto Aielo from the local band All Is Allowed. Aielo did not participate in the recording of MAKKINAGEDOOM; his role is focused on the live lineup and on future re-recordings of songs from Tracy G.’s era with Ronnie James Dio.

Guto Aielo has already appeared on a new version of “Jesus, Mary and the Holy Ghost”, a song originally released by Ronnie James Dio on his 1993 album Strange Highways.
The re-recording was released ahead of “Human Reptile” as a way of introducing the Tracy G. Group while establishing a direct connection between the guitarist’s work during the Dio era and the project’s new original-material chapter.
With “Human Reptile,” the Tracy G. Group is now unveiling the first completely original composition from its new incarnation. The track serves as an initial taste of MAKKINAGEDOOM, an album that reaffirms Tracy G.‘s connection to a strain of Heavy Metal built on powerful riffs, crushing weight and a dark atmosphere, while introducing a new and distinctly high-level vocal identity to his compositions through his collaboration with Brazilian singer Fabiano Negri.
