Sim, você leu corretamente a expressão acima. Não temos guitarra nesse novo projeto de uma das maiores e mais lindas vozes dentro do Rock/Metal dos últimos tempos, Matt Barlow (Ashes of Ares, ex-Iced Earth e ex-Pyramaze), com os teclados de Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze), aqui temos paixão, vigor, alma, emoção e muita orquestração que praticamente nos leva para uma outra dimensão cataclísmica em todas suas poderosas 12 faixas.
Matt e Jonah já trabalharam juntos no Pyramaze no belíssimo álbum “Immortal” (2008), e lá já vimos que essa combinação deu e muito certo. Sejamos francos, a voz de Barlow é única e não tem como não lembrarmos de sua brilhante passagem pelo Iced Earth, e desde lá tínhamos toneladas e toneladas de vocais emotivos, passagens que arrepiavam até o último fio de cabelo do corpo e alma a cada sílaba pronunciada dessa gargante de ouro. Só um imbecil não concorda com isso e mais uma vez eu digo: Aceite que dói menos (risos).
Enquanto ambas bandas principais dão um tempinho, Ashes Of Ares e Pyramaze, os dois colocaram em prática esse novo projeto corajoso e que agradará gregos e troianos. Não meus caros leitores, não podemos classifica-lo como Metal pela ausência de guitarras, mas a alma do Metal está presente a cada compasso e segundo dessas incríveis composições. Diversos sentimentos são proferidos a cada faixa, desde beleza, luz, trevas, tristeza, alegria, vitória, derrota, unindo antônimos de sentimentos como se ambos fossem feitos um para os outros. Bom, os opostos se atraem, e aqui é a mais perfeita prova disso!
Jonah com seu teclado/piano criou orquestrações e percussões tão marcantes, épicas e climáticas que fazem o ouvinte entrar em transe a cada nota tocada, ai vem Barlow com toda sua alma e simplesmente cria um crescendo dos deuses. Não meus caros, não estou puxando o saco deles não, escute e comprove. Você irá se arrepender de ter pensado isso de mim (risos).
Se existe um álbum que podemos classifica-lo como “beleza, inspiração e perfeição em forma de música”, eis aqui ele.
Não seja tonto em dizer: “Pô, não tem guitarra!” ou “Isso não é Metal!”, pois vai se arrepender amargamente em perder algo grandioso, memorável, cheio de classe, prazeroso e gostoso de se ouvir, por exemplo, num jantar regado a vinho com a mulher que você ama ou ascendendo a lareira num dia frio e solitário. Aliás, frio/inverno é um foco bem grande já que muitas faixas nos remetem a esse tema.
A trilogia épica “Kingdom In Winter”, “Dreaming In Winter” e “Battle In Winter” é um belo resumo de todo álbum e destaque instantâneo logo na primeira audição por trazer todos os sentimentos e elementos que esse projeto ambicioso encabeça, mas não posso deixar de citar a genial, linda, deslumbrante e emocionante versão para “Holy Diver” (Ronnie James Dio) que tirará lágrimas dou ouvinte por N razões!
Para finalizar, esse projeto é inclassificável, mas não menos genial, que todo ser humano que possua algum resquício de alma dentro dessa carcaça modernosa deveria apreciar e, assim, tentar ‘rebutá-la’ para os padrões originais da humanidade do bem.

Yep, you read the above correctly. There are no guitars in this project from one of the greatest and most beautiful rock/metal voices of recent times, Matt Barlow (Ashes of Ares, ex-Iced Earth and ex-Pyramaze), with keyboards by Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze). Here we see passion, energy, soul, feeling and lots of orchestration that basically takes us to a cataclysmic dimension in its powerful 12 tracks.
Matt and Jonah have already worked together in Pyramaze’s beautiful “Immortal” album (2008), and it was clear that this combination worked very well. Let’s be honest, Barlow’s voice is unique and it is impossible to not remember his glorious time with Iced Earth, from which there were already tons and tons of emotional vocals, passages that sent shivers down the spine in each syllable pronounced by his golden throat. Only an idiot would disagree to this and I repeat once more: just grin and bear it (laughs).
While both of their main bands, Ashes Of Ares and Pyramaze, take a break, they decided to give a go on this ambitious project that will please everyone. No, my dear readers, we can’t call it metal because there are no guitars, but the metal essence is there in each and every single compass of these incredible works. Lots of feelings are poured out in each track, from beauty, light, darkness, sadness, happiness, victory, defeat, bringing together opposite feelings like they were made to each other. Well, opposites attract, and this is the perfect proof!
Jonah with his keyboard/piano created orchestrations and percussions so memorable, epic and climatic that make the listener enter in a trance state in each note played, then Barlow comes in with all his soul and creates a crescendo of the gods. No, dear ones, I’m not kissing their asses, listen and see for yourselves. You’ll regret thinking of me like that (laughs).
If there is an album that we could call “beauty, inspiration and perfection shaped into music”, this is it.
Don’t be silly to say “C’mon, there’s no guitar” or “This is not metal!”, because you’ll truly regret missing out on something magnificent, memorable, filled with class, pleasant to listen to, for exemple, in a dinner with wine with your beloved one or lighting a fire on a cold and lonely day. By the way, cold/winter has a big focus, given that many tracks deal with this theme.
The epic trilogy “Kingdom In Winter”, “Dreaming In Winter” and “Battle In Winter” is a wonderful summary of the album and an instant highlight right on the first time you listen to it because it has all the feelings and elements this ambitious project spreads, but I can’t forget to mention the brilliant, beautiful, wonderful and touching version for “Holy Diver” (Ronnie James Dio) that will bring tears to your eyes for a number of reasons!
To sum it up, it is impossible to classify this project, and it is so brilliant that every single human being that still have a little bit of soul inside their modern outer frame should enjoy it and try to reset it to the defaults of the humanity of goodness.
